About

Textile Designer Amelia, works cross-discipline in the fields of fashion, art, and interiors

A graduate of Chelsea College of Art and Design, she spent a decade designing womenswear print in London before moving to Paris, freelancing for brands such as Paul&Joe and Topshop.

Returning to London in 2012, she began working in other domains, crossing over into interiors and creative retail display.

Her prints adorn the catwalks of ready to wear designers and high street fashion labels and grace the interiors of boutique hotels and private clients.

"Collaboration and interdisciplinary dialogue are fundamental to my work. Revisiting traditional textile motifs while looking firmly to the future, my strong sense of form, and bold use of colour are driven by an innate belief that textile design can transcend the boundaries of fashion and interior and have universal application, not confined to a sole platform.”

Commissions for international hotels, globally renowned fashion labels and high profile collaborations with product, interior and retail environment designers, and embroiderers, have allowed her to put this theory into effect in her practice

Amelia's collaboration with embroiderer Elle MacDonald, "EvA" resulted in bespoke textile art pieces for high-end commercial and private clients across the world. Their latest commission of digitally rendered botanical and geological prints free-hand embroidered on a Singer sewing machine are currently hung on the walls of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore.link In London two pieces are on display at the historic Blacks Club in Soho.

Interest in her geometric and arithmetic work, led to the launch of her eponymous line in 2014: free and measured rhythms, nods to brutalist architecture, African textiles, and post-modernism, encapsulated in signature prints on fabric, wallpaper, cushions and scarves.

Amelia is available for commission, or you can explore her archive of prints for exclusive purchase here.(link)
